About4-H is a youth development organization that focuses on leadership and citizenship. Students participate in community based projects, competitions, and portfolio development in areas of their individual interests. Outcomes include the head (educational commitment and achievement), heart (caring relationships), hands (civic and social responsibility) and health (healthy lifestyles).
Academic Bowl is a scholastic competition for high school students sponsored by the North East Georgia Regional Educational Service Agency. Teams from participating schools compete against each other in a series of matches, similar to “Jeopardy”. Questions cover subject matter from Georgia's high school curriculum as well as current events.
The AFJROTC Drill Team meets Monday-Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:30 pm (Williams). The AFJROTC Joseph Helton Flight Club meets Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30 pm (Rozier). It is comprised of the most academically/physically fit who participate in high adventure training. The AFJROTC Raiders meet the third Thursday of the month (Rozier).
The Anchor Club is a diligent service club that actively participates in community projects. It also prepares useful citizenship by developing initiative, leadership, and personal integrity. Anchor Club is sponsored by and under the auspices of the Pilot Club of Monroe. Our MAHS Anchor Club has been judged the #1 club in Georgia and the #1 club in the U.S.!
The Art Club seeks to further individual and group artistic views by continuously working on new art projects. Club meetings allow students time to work on individual projects, complete school work, and learn new techniques. The Art Club sponsors gallery nights and auctions. The club is open to members of all levels. Members do not need to be currently enrolled in an art class to join.
Beta Club is a National service organization. Membership is invitation only. Students are selected using criteria of scholarship and leadership skills and excellent academic record. Freshmen are eligible for Beta Club after 1st semester. Beta Club is open to all students at MAHS. To be a member, you must have a 90.0 or above grade point average.
CTI is designed to support students enrolled in career, technical, and agricultural programs through an Individual Education Plan (IEP). Students participate in a variety of competitions, including those hosted at the Georgia National Fair. CTI students also have the opportunity to attend a leadership conference. The C.U.R.R.E.N.T. Book Club is an outlet for students who are interested in reading to read and discuss new and exciting books. Club members read a book every month and bring questions and talking points to meetings. This group is open to all students. Group members nominate and vote on the books we read. We read a variety of books, mostly focusing on new young adult fiction.
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is the largest and oldest business student organization in the world. FBLA is a results-based business and leadership program designed to complement academics while accelerating a student’s leadership, communication, and team skills. FBLA prepares students for “real world” professional.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is the largest Christian sports organization in America. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people (especially athletes and coaches) to make a difference for Christ. Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members expand their leadership potential and life skills through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.
FFA is a national organization dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. Members attend events such as the state convention, the National Convention, FFA Summer Camp, the North Region Rally, and participate in school events.
The Manga and Comics Club covers a variety of genre interests. Club meetings feature discussions and presentations about manga, anime, traditional comics, graphic novels, animation, cartoons, superheroes, villains, drawing, Japanese language and music, and much more! Students share their interests with the group and make connections between the varieties of media they consume.
National Honor Society is a prestigious club for students who have earned a 93.0 cumulative grade point average by the end of his or her sophomore or junior years. It promotes scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Once inducted students must maintain the average and serve the school in a leadership or service area, must be of strong character, and uphold school policies .
A technical and career student organization that honors students who have excelled in academic courses, technical and career courses, leadership development, and student organization activities. To become a member, a Junior or Senior must have a 90 or above overall GPA, 3 or more CTAE credit, a 90 or above CTAE GPA, and be a member of a Career Technical Student Organization.
Partnership for Success joins Special Olympics athletes and their Non-Disabled Partners in competition and in partnership during their high school years, primarily though sports, training and competition (Unified Sports). The club also offers social and recreational activities. Meetings are held at least three times and year, and the members compete in Special Olympics Unified Sports.
The Student Government Association (SGA) is an elected Student Representative Association. SGA sponsors Homecoming, develops the leadership potential of members and officers, provides student representation to all students regarding school related and social issues, and provides students a link to the wider community by involving itself with select charity events throughout the year.
The MAHS STEM Club works to inspire students with amazing science, technology, engineering, and math activities. Meetings involve experiments, scientific investigation, and discussion. It is a fun way for students who are interested in learning about STEM subjects to participate in projects outside of class. The club also helps students apply for unique learning opportunities outside of school.
The goal of this organization is to further the academic success and post-secondary options of students at MAHS.
TSA is the only student organization devoted exclusively to the needs of students interested in technology. TSA fosters personal growth, leadership, and opportunities in technology, innovation, design and engineering. Members apply and integrate science, technology, engineering and mathematics concepts through co-curricular activities, competitive events and related programs.
Thespian Troupe is an elite theatre organization that supports student advancement and improvement in theater arts. The club encourages students to attain a better mastery of language, to develop poise and self-control, and to appreciate dramatic literature. The Troupe competes in One Act, attends the Georgia Thespian Conference, and performs in several showcases throughout the year.
Staff members report on news of interest to or that relates to the student body, photograph student life and activities, and learn to design or edit journalistic publications. Their work culminates in a book that is sold and distributed to staff, students, and others in the school community. The class builds a journalism foundation, which can be useful in post secondary education.
